The Evolution From Cabinets and Millwork to High Quality Wood Furniture Manufacturer
Lowell Innes is the owner and President of Wood Products, Inc. He has been instrumental in the success of the company and has had the vision
needed to take the risk and allow expansion of the company over the years. Lowell began
construction work in the 1960's and incorporated a new construction company called Innes Construction Co. Inc
back in 1972. With many commercial and housing projects being constructed
there was a need for commercial cabinetry and millwork.
A new company was formed by Mr. Innes in 1982 called Wood
Products, Inc to produce custom cabinets and millwork for the increasing commercial building business.
Wood
Products produced custom kitchen cabinetry and millork for the construction company and it's
clients for many years. The experience gained over the years led to the designing and manufacturing of
our outdoor cedar line. This line took the company from a regional to a national sales level. With the
national growth came new specialized machinery and expansion of the plant to 160,000 square feet. The
national exposure led to a new high-end indoor wood furniture manufacturer division as
well.
Wood Products Inc. currently employ 105 craftsmen and designers to
efficiently manage all the various product lines. We have the expertise and experience to continue our
growth well into the next generation by continuing with the new product developments, acquiring new state of
the art equipment and employee educating and retention strategies. We are ready for new challenges we will
face in the future arena.

Joinery Used In The Production Of Our Wood Furniture
Lines
|

|
Dovetail Joint
Dovetail joints are very strong because of the way the “tails” and “pins” are shaped. This makes
it difficult to pull the joint apart and virtually impossible when glue is added. This joint is
used in our drawer box construction and in other areas where strength is required. When precisely
cut they are very attractive.
|
|

|
Mortise and Tenon Joinery
A tongue (tenon) that slots into a hole (the mortise) cut in the mating piece of timber. The
strength of this joint makes it ideal for
wood furniture construction. We use this method on virtually
all of our designs. Eliminates the use of nails and screws for a stronger, more attractive looking
design.
|
|

|
Miter Joint
Miter joints are made by cutting the ends of the pieces on an angle equal to one half of the
angle of the finished product. Cutting each piece at a 45-degree angle makes a square 90-degree
corner. Glue and a biscuit fasten them. (Small oval discs made from composite wood material that
expands when moistened with glue). We use this joinery for picture and mirror frames.
|
|

|
Step Joint
Step Joints are made by cutting pieces into “steps” and fitting them together. This joint lends
great strength without the use of nails or screws, allows for clean look. We use this joinery
technique for one of our lines.
